The best time to use a shoe tree is as soon as you take your sneakers off. The upper materials on your sneakers will be under a lot of stress after a day of wear. By inserting shoe trees, the leather will re-form back to its natural shape, this helps you avoid unwanted creasing of the materials on the upper of your shoes.

Shoe trees also help when you clean them because it gives your shoes some needed structural stability while you brush, polish, and clean them.
